For many years, excavations (mainly underground) have been underway for the construction of Line C of the Rome Metro through the center of the city. A new arena is built each year, and the former arenas are popular tourist attractions for the citizens of the Capitol. In each district, the winner receives a celebration and ceremony, usually accompanied by a victory rally and a dinner with the district's senior officials.

In the third Quarter Quell (the 75th Hunger Games), each district's tributes had to be drawn from among the surviving victors. In the 75th Hunger Games, the game makers divided the arena into 12 segments, each with a different hazard, that were only activated at a certain hour. The game makers are always in full control of the arena's environment and can create any hazard they wish. Such a banquet is announced at a known place and time, although it depends on the Gamemakers whether it is really a banquet or a single stale loaf of bread to get the tributes fighting. If a Tribute doesn't progress fast enough or avoids conflict for too long, the Gamemakers will sometimes create hazards for more entertainment or drive him or her to the remaining Tributes. In the 2002/03 season, the club threatened to get its hands on a sad record, after the team, including Dutch midfielder George Boateng, portugal soccer jersey had not scored eight consecutive away games. In the third Quarter Quell, the Horn of Plenty was placed on an island in a saltwater lake, the surrounding shore of which was divided into segments that acted like a clock. What would work against Deportivo was that both Hércules Alicante and Almería scored unprecedentedly few points that season and would be relegated, resulting in the third relegation spot being hard-fought.
